Hello, I’m Sunny.
  • Well-rested and without time pressure is my absolute top tip when installing window film.
  • Calm weather and an outdoor temperature between 10–25°C is ideal for installing window film.
  • Install window film in the shade, NOT in direct sunlight.
  • Always check that the film fits the window BEFORE starting.

Clean the glass thoroughly.
  • Wash the glass with a soft sponge, water, and a little dish soap. Use a window squeegee to remove the liquid.
  • Clean the glass with an appropriate glass cleaner.
  • Spray glass cleaner again and use the squeegee to remove any stubborn dirt.
  • Clean the glass one last time with glass cleaner, paying extra attention to the edges to ensure it is completely clean.
  • Carefully dry the edges of the glass with a lint-free cloth, especially the upper edge, to remove any remaining moisture.

Mix the application fluid
  • Use distilled water (e.g. battery water) to avoid drying spots if your tap water is hard or rich in minerals.
  • Prefer a proper concentrated application solution instead of dish soap to avoid “rainbow effects” caused by oil additives in regular cleaners.
  • Add 2–3 drops of concentrated application fluid/dish soap to a 0.5L spray bottle. DO NOT OVERDOSE! Fill with lukewarm water and shake well.

Separate the film from the liner
  • Double-check that the glass is completely clean before installing the film.
  • Generously spray the glass with application fluid, especially at the top where the film will be first applied.
  • Attach two pieces of tape to the film’s top corners, one on each side, and gently pull apart the film and liner.
  • Pull the liner down about 10–15 cm from the top edge and spray both the film and liner generously with application fluid.

Align the film on the glass
  • Place the exposed adhesive side of the film against the glass, aligning it carefully, 2 mm from the top edge/rubber gasket and 2 mm from each side.
  • Once the top part of the film is in perfect position, press it gently along the top to make it adhere.
  • Carefully check the alignment against the window edges/gasket.

Remove the liner
  • It’s helpful to have two people for this step: one to hold the film and one to spray, to avoid dirt getting between the film and glass.
  • Lift the loose part of the film and spray the glass again with application fluid.
  • Hold the film at the top to keep it steady as you remove the liner.
  • Lift the film from the bottom and begin peeling off the liner.
  • Generously and thoroughly spray the film before pressing it against the window pane.

Secure the film’s position
  • The first squeegee motion should form a T-shape to secure the film in the correct position before proceeding with firm squeegeeing.
  • Spray the film generously with application fluid before squeegeeing. NEVER squeegee dry film.
  • Start by pulling the squeegee from the middle of the top edge out to both sides. Apply firm pressure!
  • Then pull from the top centre to the bottom centre to form a T. Apply firm pressure!

Press to activate the adhesive
  • Since the adhesive is pressure-activated, the entire film must be firmly pressed with a squeegee.
  • Spray more application fluid as needed.
  • Start at the top, pressing from the centre outwards down to the bottom edge. Use both hands for optimal pressure.
  • Spray again and repeat the process, paying special attention to the edges.
  • Wipe away all excess fluid with a cloth, especially along the edges.

Please note:
  • The adhesive begins bonding after approx. 5 minutes. Until then, the film can be removed, but it cannot be reinstalled.
  • Drying time is 10–30 days depending on temperature. Small water bubbles and hazing may appear during this time but will disappear.
  • DO NOT clean the film during the first 30 days.
  • To clean the film later, use a soft sponge, mild dish soap, and lukewarm water. Wipe with a soft cloth — not paper towels.
